Understanding Your Childcare Fees and the Child Care Subsidy
Cost is one of the first things parents ask about, and we think that is completely reasonable. You deserve a clear, honest answer.
At Treehouse, fees are based on your session length: $144 for 9 hours, $156 for 10 hours, or $169 for 12 hours. Every session is all-inclusive: all meals, snacks, milk and water, nappies, sunscreen, hats during outdoor play, and all learning activities and materials are covered. You will not be billed separately for any of these.
Many families are also eligible for the Australian Government's Child Care Subsidy (CCS), which can substantially reduce what you actually pay out of pocket. Below, we have explained how CCS works and how to apply.
“We believe every family should understand exactly what they are paying for and why. No surprises, no hidden charges. What you see is what you get.”
What your fee includes ?
Meals and Nutrition — Included
All meals, snacks, milk, and fresh water are provided throughout the day. Our menus are designed to give children access to wholesome, balanced food options at every mealtime, catering to all dietary needs.
Nappies, Sunscreen, and Hats — Included
Nappies, SPF 30+ sunscreen, and broad-brimmed hats for outdoor play are all supplied by the centre. You do not need to pack these items. We do ask that you bring a spare set of named clothing and any comfort items such as a dummy, favourite blanket, or soft toy. Label all items with your child's name.
Learning Activities and Materials — Included
Every activity, learning material, incursion, and program resource used throughout the day is included in the daily fee. There are no additional charges for arts and craft materials, outdoor equipment, visiting educators, or special learning experiences arranged by the centre.
How Does the Child Care Subsidy Work?
What is the Child Care Subsidy?
The Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is an Australian Government payment that helps eligible families with the cost of approved childcare. The subsidy is paid directly to the childcare provider, reducing the gap fee you pay each week. Treehouse Early Learning Centre in Hillcrest is an approved CCS provider.
Who is eligible for CCS?
To be eligible for CCS, at least one parent or guardian must meet an activity test (working, studying, volunteering, or looking for work), the child must be under 13 and not attending secondary school, the child must be immunised or on an approved catch-up schedule, and the family must meet the residency requirements. CCS eligibility is assessed by Services Australia through your MyGov account.
How much CCS will my family receive?
The percentage of CCS your family receives depends on your combined annual household income and activity level. Because subsidy rates are updated by the Australian Government and vary by family circumstances, we recommend using the official CCS estimator on the Services Australia website for a figure specific to your situation. Visit servicesaustralia.gov.au/child-care-subsidy or speak with our team.
How do I apply for CCS?
You apply for CCS through your MyGov account at my.gov.au, linked to your Centrelink account. You will need your child's details, your income information, and your approved childcare provider's details. Treehouse's provider details are available from our team on request. For assistance, contact Services Australia on 13 61 50 or visit servicesaustralia.gov.au/child-care-subsidy.
How is CCS paid?
CCS is paid directly to Treehouse. You only pay the gap fee, which is the difference between the daily fee and the CCS amount. Your gap fee is debited from your nominated account every second Monday in arrears through the Xplor Home system. You can view your CCS entitlement and payment statements at any time through the Xplor Home app.
