Early Learning
Every child who walks through our doors is met with the same intention: to be genuinely known, carefully supported, and given the space to grow into exactly who they are meant to be.
Our approach is grounded in a philosophy that is entirely our own: a belief that each child arrives already capable, curious, and full of potential. We nurture that potential through play-based learning, nature-based play, and child-led exploration, supported by the Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Framework. Every family is a genuine partner, and every child is treated as a unique individual with their own background, interests, strengths, and abilities.
I have been part of Treehouse since 2012, growing from Educator to Centre Director. I have seen what happens when children feel safe, seen, and trusted. They thrive. That is what we are here to do, every single day.

Our Philosophy: Learning Through Play
At Treehouse, we believe that children are not empty vessels waiting to be filled. They arrive already capable, curious, and eager to make sense of the world around them. Our role as educators is not to direct that curiosity but to nurture it.
Play is how children think. It is how they test ideas, build relationships, practise language, manage emotions, and develop the resilience they will carry for life. When you visit Treehouse and see a child carefully filling a container at the sandpit, negotiating with a friend over a block structure, or experimenting with colour at the art table, you are watching real learning in progress.
Our educators design experiences that are open-ended and intentional. They observe, document, and respond to what each child shows them. That is what it means to be genuinely child-led.

At Treehouse, our vision is to foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive community where children feel secure, connected, and proud of their culture and identity.
That vision comes to life differently for every child. For an Infant, it is the security of being held by a familiar face who knows their rhythm. For a Toddler, it is the confidence that grows from being encouraged to make a choice, try something new, and feel heard when they express how they feel. For a Pre-Schooler, it is the pride that comes from being celebrated for who they are, where they come from, and what they can do.
We believe every child deserves to feel they belong here. Not just welcomed, but genuinely connected: to their educators, to their peers, and to a community that respects and celebrates their culture and identity.
What Guides Our Practice
Early Years Learning Framework
The EYLF underpins all programming and planning at Treehouse, with five Learning Outcomes guiding every educator's approach. These outcomes support each child's identity, wellbeing, connection to community, confident learning, and communication.
National Quality Framework
The NQF sets the national standard for quality in early childhood education across Australia. Treehouse operates across all seven Quality Areas, with six of those areas currently rated Meeting NQS.
Nature-Based Play
Our indoor and outdoor environments are designed as one connected learning space. Two large playgrounds and three sandpits give children daily opportunities for active exploration, creativity, and connection to the natural world.
Child-Led Learning
We create a safe, supportive environment where children are encouraged to make choices, participate in decision-making, and develop problem-solving skills. Educators support children to assess and manage risks, think critically, and build independence and confidence.
Play-Based Learning
We believe children learn best through meaningful play, including nature-based play. Educators support, guide, and extend each child's learning to achieve positive outcomes across all areas of development.

Our Safety Promise
At Treehouse Childcare & Early Learning Centre, the safety, health and wellbeing of every child is our highest priority. Everything we do is guided by six commitments:
- We Supervise and Care: We actively supervise children and help them play and learn safely.
- We Keep Our Spaces Safe and Clean: Our environments, toys and equipment are clean, safe and well maintained.
- We Practise Good Health and Hygiene: We wash our hands, keep things clean and help stop germs from spreading.
- We Are Ready for Emergencies: We practise our emergency procedures so we know what to do to keep everyone safe.
- We Listen and Make Safe Choices: We listen to children and support them to make safe choices every day.
- We Work Together: We partner with families to care for each child and support their wellbeing. Safe, Happy & Loved. Together, we grow.
